This is quite a nasty storm we got over here today!
The streets are flooded. I didn't even try to venture out of the house. I've been hiding out from hoomans.
Remember this strange post? I'm literally fighting myself because I definitely saw something that wasn't quite human.
Thursday, I was prepared to toss DH to his parents. We had the monster truck rally of fights. My mom begged me not to throw him out. DH has the yiddishkiet bug now and since I want no part of it right now; I figured that was the best course of action.
Then I had a seizure because I was majorly angered. I slept on and off. Meanwhile, DH prayed to Hashem that he would die in his sleep since he felt he was no longer useful and he hurt me too much. Then da hubster just asked Hashem to help us because he didn't know what to do anymore.
We went for a late night shopping trip to Pathmark. Why would I see someone walking out of the library and locking up at 3 AM? Then this person said hello to me and I said hello back. But DH didn't see him. I figured that he wasn't paying attention as usual.
Then I saw this person again on the boardwalk on the way back from market. DH saw him too. He wasn't a ghost; but he wasn't human either. Why do I say this? Because I didn't see his feet plus he smelled like roses. (too long to explain that one...if someone knows plop it in the comments please?)
So he chatted with DH and I for a few minutes. His name was Michael. Of course we talked about the New York mag thing because everybody has been talking about it. He asked the typical "why do you want to convert?" question. He told me that I was over-thinking the conversion thing; I'm using someone else's approach that is antithetical to me. Then he told me a specific place to go to in BK. A typical 4AM boardwalk conversation. Then we went our separate ways. I turned around and he disappeared.
Anyone who has ever been on the boardwalk knows you can see people at least 5 - 8 blocks ahead. He literally disappeared.
I hate it when these things happen to me. Now I feel like I just got a draft notice to go to war.
Why did Hashem make me a freak of nature?
WHY????????

Enjoy
Because HaShem wants you to know that you are loved and that you are important, of course! Michael is there to help you along on your spiritual journey.
I think what chilled me to the bone is what he said about me; me and DH; and the world in general.
I just chalked it up to an intellectual convo. Then when he disappeared like that I got really frightened. Because Moshiach is really close. If Moshiach is really close... then things are going to get uglier by the day.
I was drinking water at the water fountain and I started to smell a strong scent of pine. The old age home two blocks away has evergreens in the back so I figured I was smelling that. Then he spoke to me and I jumped.
What's weird is that he asked if the other water fountain was working. I had to show him how to use it.
Now I understand why he came.
Honestly, I think that DH called him down and he came for him not for me.
Then I again, only I saw/heard him the first time. When he rode off that's when I smelled the roses. DH didn't notice that.
He thought he smelled like sandalwood.
weird.

Hashem puts things, people, places in our life in the time that we need them
Oh BTW how did the engagement party go?
The Catholics can tell you, there is a long, long history of the scent of flowers, and especially roses, being associated with saints, angels and holy appearances. It has often been reported that when the coffins of saints are opened, that they smell very strongly of spring flowers, and that the scent of roses comes with the appearance of the Virgin Mary. These stories go back many hundreds of years.
Furthermore, the fact that you couldn't see his feet really makes me think that he was an angel, because in the Kedusha, when we say "Kadosh, kadosh, kadosh" we rise up on our tiptoes with our legs together because we are trying to be like angels. According to the Talmud, angels only have a single leg/foot type of structure when they are in their true form. They do not "set foot" on the earth and walk around as we do.
I think that you are a very special person, and so does Hashem. Obviously, He wants to to convert, and He's trying to help you. Don't run away now!
That's weird... not only did I not see his feet; he didn't sit down either. If he sat down, I would have really noticed the no feet thing.
ITA, I was in such a dour mood for weeks that I was pulling away from everything.
DH thinks he came for me too... I'm really; really frightened at this point because he said "Moshiach is close; he's coming soon."
I haven't had a seizure since Friday morning. :knocks on plywood/mdf:
Plus, DH shook his hand.
woah...
